A Sporting Weekend!

A Sporting Weekend!

From the Head's Office

What a weekend of sporting triumphs!   Saturday's Netball Festival provided some exciting and fast netball for our Year 3 girls.  Amber used her speed to our advantage, playing strongly in both attack and defence, Tilda demonstrated her shooting strengths and worked superbly alongside Isla, who won "Most Improved Player" for the tournament (some excellent snatch catches Isla!). Annabel also played very well, so much so that she was nominated for "Player of the Match" by Terrington in our final game, and Anna dominated the court with some excellent footwork, passing and predictive play.  Well done Anna for winning our overall  "Player of the Festival". (Pictures in side)

The sun continued to shine upon Sunday's 13th Annual Aysgarthian Run, with many parents running alongside our Pre-Preppers.  Miss Philip's cross-country training had prepared the children well and all our Year 3's finished strongly with Harry Gawthorpe storming across the line as the overall PP winner.  Harry was closely followed by Anna H-T (a sporting double Anna!) and Harry Bateman, who showed true grit and determination as he approached the final straight.  A special well done also to Alice Prudhoe who came in first for PP2, and Georgie Bell who was triumphant for PP1.  Very well done everyone!

Congratulations to ‘Granny Snowball’!  Her third grandchild arrived safely this weekend, named Emma Caroline, best wishes to all the family.

With best wishes, Susie Drake,  Head of Pre-Prep

Great fun was had in the swimming pool learning about water safety as children completed their swimming lesson in their pyjamas.  This exercise will help if they ever fall in to deep water wearing clothes.
