Boys celebrate music exam success

25 boys celebrated their success in music exams this week, across a whole range instruments including piano, singing, guitar, clarinet, cello and oboe. The music department has been working hard on preparing all the boys for their exams, in which 3 were awarded distinctions and 8 achieved merits. All of the boys were examined by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, one of the world’s leading authority on musical assessment.

Matthew Atherton, Director Music at Aysgarth, said:

“I am extremely proud of all the boys and what they have achieved. They have worked so hard and this is evident in the fantastic results. A special mention must go to our dedicated team of peripatetic music teachers who have worked tirelessly with the boys.”

Boys who achieved higher than a pass were:

  • Nathan Shepard (Singing)
  • Ed Dunning (Merit)
  • William Jameson (Oboe)
  • Bas Sanders (Singing)
