Celebrating the Queen's 90th Birthday

Celebrating the Queen's 90th Birthday

News from Aysgarth

The term is now in full swing and all our extra-curricular clubs are underway. We are excited that this week sees the start of our Forest Schools Club with Mrs Hayden. This activity is open to children in PP1 and PP2 and takes place after school on Wednesdays. Please speak to Mrs Pinkney if you require further information.

It is such a tonic to see the sunshine out today and we pray for continued good weather as we move into Thursday for our whole school photograph.

With this in mind, can everyone please make sure they arrive on Thursday morning looking as smart as possible in the correct school uniform. If the weather is still chilly the children may want an extra layer on underneath their school shirts. If your child does not normally attend Nursery on a Thursday morning, but you would like them to be in the photograph, please speak to Mrs Pinkney or Mrs Forth about bringing them into school for the photograph in the morning. The final proof will be on display in the Pre -Prep and you will be able to order copies over the internet.

With all best wishes, Rob and Lottie Morse

Happy Birthday Ma'am

The Reception Class held a tea party to celebrate the Queen’s birthday last week.

They explored what the number 90 looked like by examining the numbers on the cake and arranging 90 counters end to end in a very long line!

Welcome to our new Nursery children

This term we welcome eight new children into Nursery. It seems as if most have taken to life at Aysgarth as if they’ve always been here. We thank all the bigger children for helping them settle in; playing with them in the playground and showing them all how caring everyone at Aysgarth can be!

Rainforest art

PP1 and PP2 started their rainforest art work this week. They took a picture of a rainforest and divided it up into sections. Each child was given a piece and reproduced it in pencil crayon. Their individual pictures have been put back together to re-create the whole image. Later this term they will be creating a watercolour and then finally a felt version of the same picture.
