Form 5 Rugby Tour to Scotland
On Thursday lunchtime all of the fifth form left on rugby tour, travelling to Edinburgh, where we stayed in a Holiday Inn. When we got there we unpacked and had tea at MacDonalds and then visited the cinema to see Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. The film was really good and after that we returned to the hotel.
The next morning we had breakfast and then were lucky enough to go to Murrayfield stadium and we had a tour, included the changing rooms, the pitch, the tunnel and the commentator's room. We also had the opportunity to go in the shop and spend our money on things like balls and shirts.
In the afternoon we had games against Cargilfield and we on a 4G pitch as their pitches were frozen. The 1st XV and the 2nd XV won their games. That evening we ate at Zizzi's. It was a delicious three course meal.
The following day unfortunately our matches were cancelled due to Fettes' pitches being frozen. So we set off home and returned early to school.
It was a great expertience and we had lots of fun. Our favourite parts were the evening meal at Zizzi's and the game against Cargilfield.

On Sunday morning at quarter past eleven Mrs. Tomlinson took a cookery group into the boys' kitchen.
The first thing we did was make our gingerbread men using muscavado sugar, unsalted butter, golden syrup, ground ginger and ground cinnamon. Once our gingerbread men had cooked we had to leave them to cook while we had our lunch.
Then we went back to our kitchen to put on the different decorations. We used smarties and jellytots with caramel icing to glue them on. We gave the gingerbread men trousers using melted chocolate.
The best bit was when we got to eat them!

Before lunch on Sunday Mr. Chadwick took all the juniors for an indoor cricket match in the sport's hall. We played pairs cricket and Harry B and George B won the game, scoring thrity two runs from four overs.
Then the juniors went on to do a shooting competition using the air rifles in the school range. William MacDonald won shooting forty five out of fifty. Second was William Eggleston with thirty seven and Harry Bellamy came third with thirty points.
After our session Mr. Chadwick then took a senior group for a cricket session.
It was fun and much warmer inside than it was outside.
