The 5th form boys enjoyed a fabulous trip to Swinton Park's cookery school. Under the expert tutelage of the infectiously enthusiastic Steve Bulmer, the fledgling chefs learned how to prepare a range of mouth-watering offerings over the barbecue, ranging from pulled pork and 'coke can chicken' to a deliciously sticky pineapple upside down cake.
Amongst their culinary adventures, the boys were also given the opportunity to sample ghost chilies, one of the hottest varieties of chili in the world. The boys got truly hands-on making their own flatbreads before foraging for greenery in the estate's walled garden for the freshest pesto they will have ever tasted. The whole day's preparations came together in a gloriously scrumptious al fresco feast.
