Memories

From the Head’s Office

It was a proud moment when the PP3 boys took to the field for their first match against Richmond House School.  The team quickly found their form and a fantastic first try from Harry G gave Aysgarth the momentum they needed.  Brave tagging from Tom, Will and Harry B ensured we retained possession and kept the visiting team working hard.  Speedy footwork led to an astonishing solo sprint by Freddy, a spectacular dive by Henry H and commanding dash for the line by Max.  Sebastian and Henry P demonstrated courage and leadership skills as they played and encouraged their team from the pitch.
Legs began to tire towards the end of the afternoon, but with the Director of Sport providing words of motivation to keep our boys working together, some clean passing and great communication provided the opportunities and breathtaking tries we all hoped for.  As the sun continue to shine upon this glorious moment, enthusiastic cheering from the girls in PP3 kept the boys on their toes, with perhaps the most passionate cheering coming from little Pippa G for her big brother!
What an afternoon!  Our boys walked from the pitch, smiles on their faces, seemingly growing in height as well as confidence!  They had achieved their first Aysgarth ’cap’, a moment they will cherish forever.
A huge thank you to Mr MacLelland for making it all possible.
With best wishes,
Susie Drake,  Head of Pre-Prep

Memories

The Topic Work in PP1 and PP2 has focused on memories from 100 years ago.  PP2 read the story “Granny’s Quilt” which talked about memories.  They have created memory boxes and also designed their own memory quilts showing using the special artefacts in their memory boxes.
