From the Head’s Office
Our year 1 and year 2 classes have been extremely busy recently.
Last week they visited Hags Ghyl farm in Swaledale as part of their study of sheep and farming. They have also had a visit this week from three lambs, one of which was born that morning.
Today they have been looking at maps of the school grounds and maps of the farm they visited—both current and historical ones.
I have been very impressed with the depth of experiences the children have had through this topic. For more information please see the centre pages.
I would like to remind you all that our Spring Concert will be taking place on Wednesday 23rd March at 11.00am in the Reynolds Hall. All children will be taking part. If your Nursery child does not usually attend on Wednesday please speak to Mrs Forth. Our term finishes at 12.00 to be followed by the APPA Easter Egg hunt. Donations of eggs are gratefully received.
Please could I remind you to keep your children close to you when you have collected them from school. There was a ‘near miss’ in the car park last week when a child ran out in front of an oncoming car.
With best wishes,
Susie Drake, Head of Pre-Prep

These children joined Mrs Morse for Friday lunch on the Good Manners Table.
On Tuesday 8th March PP1 and PP2 visited Hags Ghyl Farm in Swaledale as part of our topic on sheep and farming.
When we got there we watched the sheepdog, Meg, working the sheep. She brought them right up to us.
Then we had a (MASSIVE!!) hike up the hill towards the moor to see the start of the water hydro system.
It was a fantastic day out, even if it was extremely muddy.
