Book Week
The theme of book week this year was World War II.
Every boy took part in the World War II Poetry Recital Competition during English lessons and semi final heats were held on Friday.
The following boys made it through to the final which was held in chapel on Saturday morning:
Form 1: Timmy Lawson Tancred
Form 2: Harry Stephenson
Form 3: Felix Mason Hornby
Form 4: James Trevelyan
Form 5: Harry Holt
Harry and James won the junior and senior prizes.
Well done!
The Eden Camp trip was a great success: the boys really enjoyed being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of 1940s Britain and learnt so much about the war. The information they gathered and their response to the things they learnt will be fully explored in their writing this term.
The Little Ripon Book Shop supplied quality children’s books for the Aysgarth Book Fair and boys were coached in how to make a sensible choice about which reading book to choose for themselves.
The notice board opposite Mrs Martin’s room is full of interesting World War II reading matter and the boys’ short stories. Do have a look when you have the opportunity.
