Classics trip to Rome
A group of boys, teachers and family visited Rome in half term.
Fifteen boys from school (plus a sister and three brave parents) visited Rome for five days at the start of half term with Mrs di Costanzo and Mr Southall. The trip was designed to stimulate interest in the classical world and included excursions to Ostia Antica, the Colosseum, the Pantheon and a gladiator training centre, where the children were given their first lesson in gladiator fighting. The group also explored St Peter's, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and enjoyed a night walk to the Trevi fountain. They were also hugely privileged to be shown around the Magistral Palace of the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta by the Prince and Grand Master Fra' Matthew Festing.
