School donates clothes to African Orphans
Donations of sports clothing were given to the Mashambanzou Trust and Mavambo Trust in Zimbabwe.
A member of staff’s relative went back to the Mashambanzou Care Trust for HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe and Mavambo Trust to give them a further donation of rugby shirts, shorts, socks, sports t-shirts and track suits since the School donated old school uniforms to children there last year.
Mrs Pat Bailey secured a special additional luggage allowance from BA to allow her to take the donations out to Zimbabwe. In a thank you letter to the School, a representative from the Mavambo Trust said, “The children that we assist are orphans and those children who find themselves in extremely difficult circumstances, especially at this time in Zimbabwe. Please know that this gift will put a smile on many of these children's faces. The children have so little, so it will mean a great deal to them”.
Staff and children at the School were also delighted to hear that three of the tracksuits and some of the rugby jerseys have been used to help kit out three students who are going to North Africa for further training.
