Aysgarth School 1st XV unbeaten again

The School’s 1st XV is the second team to remain unbeaten since the School introduced rugby as a sport in 1910

Aysgarth has astonished parents and rugby fans alike by becoming unbeaten this season when playing schools on their traditional northern circuit.

Highlights of the term were the victories against Durham, St Mary’s Hall and Terrington Hall.

The School 1st XV won 450 points, conceding only 50 in their nine matches.

The School pays tribute to the outstanding skills and achievements of three boys – Troy Lockyear, Captain, (12 yrs old) Jack Williams-Ellis, Scrum Half (12, yrs old) and top try scorer, David Bateson (13 yrs old). Troy and Jack are up for selection for the northern prep school side alongside forwards Max Darbishire and Archie Erskine to play the Midlands at the beginning of next year.
