Aysgarth School in the Media
Aysgarth School regularly appears in the media. Below are some of the more recent appearances.
The school was featured in the Spectator's Guide to Independent Schools, 2011.
Following a visit to the School by journalist John McEwen, he wrote about Aysgarth staying to true to its original purpose, "finding itself not only distinct but paradoxically progressive, and in a position to demonstrate why educating the sexes separately is also thought for solid reasons, to be the better way".
At the launch of its 2010 guide, Tatler announced that Aysgarth was the winner of the 'Best Prep School'. Our review read as follows:
Tatler's Schools Guide 2010 "Aysgarth, nestling in the foothills of the Yorkshire Dales, is a smart well-run and hugely friendly school that benefits from having a headmaster with a business background. He’s supported by his charming wife and loyal staff, who take pride in working at the only all-boys prep in the north of England. ‘It’s the intimacy combined with the breadth and excellence of the opportunities that makes Aysgarth distinctive’, the school tells us. Art and games are flourishing and the chapel has been restored in the past 12 months”.
Tatler's Schools Guide The Top 225 Prep & Public Schools in the UK
Country Life Magazine (April 2007) carried an article on choosing the right public school for your child. Aysgarth School featured sixth in a list of the country's leading Prep Schools feeding the top public schools, and the only school featured in the North of Britain.
