Originally from Australia, Ted is married to Christine and has two sons. He first taught at Aysgarth many years ago and recently retired after 20 years as Headmaster at Barnard Castle Preparatory School. He is now the Head of the Pre-Prep department as well as a teacher at the Prep School.
He has a keen interest in sport, playing for the Crakehall Cricket Club and is an ardent supporter of Derby County and the Melbourne Football Club.

Gay is married with 3 boys . She can always be found surrounded by her little charges somewhere in and around the school.
Her interests include her dogs, walking, gardening and any outdoor pursuits.

Emma is married to Paul and has 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. She is a part-time taxi driver to her children's social lives.

Louise Southall (Squeeze) - Special Needs Co-ordinator

Squeeze is married to Philip and they have 3 boys. She is responsible for the special needs department in the pre-prep.
Her interests include tennis, walking and reading.

Penny O' Kelly - Classroom Assistant

Assistant teacher for 10 years, Cordon Bleu cookery, Pitmans typing & domestic engineer!
Penny keeps busy by doing charity work, trying to be Monty Dan in the garden, watching her son Charlie play cricket and her daughter Katie play hockey. Her husband, David, left the Army and is now the Regimental Secretary to the Yorkshire Regiment.

Rosemary Harrison - Nursery Assistant

Rosemary is a long standing member of the pre-prep staff and is loved by all the children, but is mainly responsible for nursery children
She is married with two children and her interests include, reading, shopping (with her daughter which is “fun, but expensive!”). Rosemary is very involved with St.John’s Ambulance and has first aid duties around the county.

Sonia works throughout the Pre-Prep as a teaching assistant as well as running Year 1 French Club and teaching french to Year 2.
She is married and has a son who was at Aysgarth and is now at Sedbergh. She lives locally and enjoys cooking, walking, country pursuits, watching rugby and tending to her vegetable patch and chickens.

Rachel started with the Pre-Prep in January 2008.
Rachel is married with two children. She lives in Richmond and is a member of Richmond Methodist Church. Rachel enjoys reading a good book and cooking or baking - when she has the time!

Kathryn Starkey - Classroom Assistant

Lives with her husband and three girls locally. She spends most of her spare time being social secretary and chauffeur for her girls. She is also involved with her local church and village activities.

Gill joined Aysgarth from Sessay CE Primary where she worked for 11 years.
Gill has four children – Will, Richard, Luke and Imogen. Will is a structural engineer and works in London, Richard has just graduated from Loughborough as an industrial designer, Luke is at Newcastle University studying for a MEng and Imogen is starting A levels. Gill enjoys reading, cooking and music – and has been learning to play the violin for a while and thoroughly enjoys it!

Chris has been fortunate enough to teach in a number of different countries and enjoys travel. Throughout her teaching career she has taught a variety of age groups and has held a number of different positions. She has two black labradors and spends a great deal of time walking them in the Dales.
