Aim of the School

Aysgarth aims to excel at providing an enjoyable, inspiring and relevant education, which is the best all-round preparation for its pupils to thrive at the major public schools and beyond.

What are Aysgarth's values?

‘Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do it, do it with all  thy might’ - Walter Chitty

If we learn to keep these three values close to our hearts and use them as a compass when we need direction, we will have a positive effect on ourselves as well as those with whom we live, work and play.

Statement of purpose

Aysgarth is home to a close and thriving community of children and staff.  Our goal is to find and develop the best in every child by providing a caring, stimulating, safe and comfortable environment.  We believe strongly in the value of boarding as a means of developing a boy in every respect – to be happy, confident, courteous, independent and ambitious.  The chapel is at the heart of the school reflecting the importance of the Christian faith and values taught within the school.
