At Aysgarth, every pupil has the chance to shine in drama. Live performances build confidence and all productions are staged in our fully equipped, 200-seat Reynolds Hall Theatre.

Pre-Prep pupils star in the Christmas Nativity, while Forms 1-3 perform year-group plays. Recent productions include Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth and Disney’s The Jungle Book.

Forms 4-5 can sign up for the Senior Play, where pupils display their talents in acting, singing, dance or gymnastics in ambitious productions such as The Lion King, Matilda and Aladdin the Musical. Many assist as technicians, stagehands, choir, or musicians – gaining varied theatre experience.

Pupils also take optional LAMDA lessons, with great success. In recent years, 100% of pupils have received merits or distinctions, with several winning prestigious drama scholarships to top schools – including Stowe, Shrewsbury and Ampleforth College.
