Award-Winning Author Saviour Pirotta Inspires Students with Greek Myths and Theatre Tales

During his visit, Saviour led storytelling workshops for students across all year groups, captivating them with tales of myth and legend. His session was filled with engaging anecdotes, including reading a ghost story to Queen Elizabeth II and memorable encounters with literary icons like JK Rowling, Michael Morpurgo, and even a particularly grumpy Roald Dahl!

A major highlight of the day was Saviour’s formal launch of Form 2's drama topic on Ancient Greek Myths. Pupils will soon be developing their own scripts based on these timeless stories, intending to perform them at the Reynolds Hall Theatre next summer.

Saviour also met with Senior LAMDA students and cast members of Aladdin the Musical Jr, sharing insights from his collaboration with renowned playwright Alan Ayckbourn and details about his current project. This project, an adaptation of First Greek Myths, is being developed by the National Theatre of Greece and is set to make its way to the UK in 2025.

This visit was a truly enriching experience, and we’re sure the children walked away inspired by the stories and insights shared by such a distinguished guest.
