Eleven-year-old Daniel, a Form 4 sports scholar at Aysgarth, has been selected to compete in the prestigious World Junior Cricket League in La Manga, Spain.
This incredible opportunity will see Daniel participate in the international tournament, co-founded by England star Adil Rashid. His selection follows an outstanding season, during which he represented Hambleton, North Yorkshire, and Yorkshire, took on leadership roles at Northallerton Cricket Club, and delivered several impressive performances—most notably scoring a remarkable 176 runs off 102 balls for Hambleton U11s against Halifax Junior League.
The La Manga tournament will include five T10 matches, a T20 game, daily training sessions, a full team kit, and a closing dinner. In preparation, Daniel attended a pre-tournament training session at the Adil Rashid Cricket Academy.
Daniel’s dedication and talent have earned him this prestigious opportunity, and the Aysgarth community wishes him the very best as he takes on this exciting challenge.
The Old Aysgarthian Association is delighted to support Daniel with a £250 donation and if you would like to help Daniel in reaching his fundraising target and benefit from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity please feel free to donate via his Gofundme page.
