The Art of Letter Writing Returns to Aysgarth!

In a world dominated by instant messaging and emojis, Aysgarth is bringing back the timeless tradition of letter writing. On Sunday, Forms 1 to 4 (with Form 5 away on their Edinburgh mini-tour) gathered to put pen to paper, crafting heartfelt letters to aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings, and other cherished individuals.

Letter writing is more than just a creative pastime; it’s a skill that builds thoughtfulness, patience, and emotional intelligence. Taking the time to choose words carefully, express feelings, and convey news fosters a deeper connection between writer and recipient.

The children reflected on their relationships, practised their handwriting, and created a remarkable 98 letters! Each one was addressed, franked, and handed to our postman to begin its journey to brighten someone’s day.

At Aysgarth, we are proud to reintroduce this treasured skill, ensuring our children experience the enduring magic of both sending and receiving letters.
