When Alex Byers, Fundraising Manager for RNIB, came into School to talk to the boys about how the money that they rise during their sponsored walk will be used to support blind people, she also brought with her 200 blindfolds. Mr Barlow announced that the blindfolds are to enable walkers to team up and walk half a mile blindfolded and experience just a little of what their friend Archie will be experiencing for the full 16 miles.
In an emial to parents Bianca Hare said "As a family we are so very grateful to the Aysgarth Community for choosing to raise funds for the RNIB (Children, young people & families services) via the Aysgarth to Aysgarth school Sponsored Walk on the 19th of May 2019. The funds raised will make a huge difference to visually impaired children, young people and families, and also visually impaired children and young people with additional and complex needs. Archie will be doing the whole 16 miles to raise as much funds as possible, and is thrilled to be doing it as a team with his Aysgarth Family who allow him to flourish in his own confidence every day he spends with them.
