What a monumental week for the Aysgarth Drama department! This year’s senior play was nothing short of ambitious, visually amazing, creative, and utterly wonderful.

In an unprecedented feat, our pupils delivered two entirely different casts for their productions of Shakespeare's Hamlet, staged on Wednesday and Friday. Set ingeniously in a gritty World War I bunker, complete with complex fight scenes and dance. The creativity on display was breathtaking.

Massive, heartfelt congratulations to Jon Benthan, Head of Drama, and the phenomenal team who supported the incredible vision. These productions were a masterclass in ambitious theatre, executed beautifully by all involved!  One senior member of staff even remarked that it was the best Aysgarth production he had ever seen in over 20 years.

Every single child involved should be immensely proud. If you can learn and deliver Hamlet at this age, you can truly do anything dramatic. These pupils will leave Aysgarth with the confidence to excel in any presentation or dramatic activity their senior school throws at them. Bravo!
