Further to the celebrations in January, when 17 pupils were selected for regional hockey squads across North Yorkshire and Durham, we were delighted to receive even more good news this week.

Huge congratulations to Marin and Seb on their selection to represent the North East at the UK U13 Boys’ Regional Hockey Championships. A fantastic achievement. 

Both boys are part of the U13 team, who, straight after exeat, will travel to the National Finals qualifiers after being crowned Regional Champions, an incredible accomplishment on the national stage. Their success reflects not only individual determination, but also the strength and depth of hockey development across the School.

These achievements sit alongside a rapidly growing hockey programme at Aysgarth, strengthened by excellent partnerships with Thirsk hockey club and a busy fixture and tour calendar, including recent experiences playing in Edinburgh. Hockey’s transition to a Tier One sport further demonstrates the School’s commitment to providing first-class sporting opportunities for all pupils.

With continued investment in facilities planned, hockey at Aysgarth is going from strength to strength ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to excel, compete and, above all, love the game.
