17 Aysgarth Pupils Selected for Regional Hockey Squads

Aysgarth School is delighted to congratulate 17 pupils who have been selected for regional hockey squads in North Yorkshire and Durham. This impressive achievement reflects not only their individual talent, commitment and determination, but also the collective effort that supports their development.

While the pupils’ success is rightly celebrated, the School also extends sincere thanks to parents, coaches and all those working behind the scenes whose encouragement, time and expertise play such a vital role in enabling pupils to reach this level.

Aysgarth’s strengthened partnership with Thirsk Hockey Club has further enhanced hockey provision, offering pupils additional high-quality training and valuable match opportunities. This sits alongside an already strong and wide-ranging fixture programme with other schools, as well as the opportunity for pupils to test themselves further on tour, including a recent hockey tour to Edinburgh.

Looking ahead, hockey’s transition to a Tier One sport at Aysgarth marks an exciting step forward. Subject to planning permission, proposals for a new, full-sized hockey pitch will further support the sport’s growth and development, ensuring that pupils continue to benefit from outstanding facilities and opportunities in the years to come.
